Dear Reader,
Previously I owned a 1983 Ex-Military Series 3 Land Rover – This wonderful piece of British engineering kept me amused most weekends – but then the missus needed a new knee, and it had to go 🙁
I have however acquired a Series IIa SWB (see above) which is my ‘daily driver’, and now a Series III 109 (ex-military) that is currently being refurbished.
You can follow progress at: https://www.instagram.com/winston_series2a_landy
Predictably though, various things can and will go wrong with it, so I’ve decided to build this page on my Blog where I will post any useful tips, hints, PDF documents and the like in order to assist other (slightly mad) Series owners like me 🙂
In addition, I’m posting any docs I can find on the Discovery, Range Rover, Forward Control, Minerva, etc.
I will be updating this page frequently over time, so please keep coming back, and feel free to comment on useful things you have found that I can add to the page.
For those of you who own a ‘Series’ Landy, you have to read this blog article I read from one of my Twitter followers [link]
Useful Documents
Please note that many of these PDF documents are *huge* – The usually consist of a page-by-page scan of the original workshop manuals that were provided by Land Rover at the time of manufacture. I have collated these documents from various .torrent, FileShare and forum sites across the web, so if you are the original owner, please let me know so I can credit you (and link to your original site)
PLEASE NOTE – THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS – New Documents will be added as and when I discover them!
If you feel generous, buy me a beer!

If you have a ex-MOD vehicle, you can get it’s full history from the MERLIN database located at the link below. All you need is the chassis number
